ATEX 153 and ATEX 114: employer obligations and suitable equipment

Explosion safety starts with two connected questions: is the workplace safely organised, and is the equipment suitable for the environment in which it is used?

That is the interaction between ATEX 153 and ATEX 114.

01

Two directives, one safety question

ATEX 153 addresses the employer and operator of the installation. ATEX 114 addresses equipment and protective systems intended for use in explosive atmospheres.

An Ex marking does not automatically prove that the workplace is safe, and an explosion protection document does not automatically prove that all equipment is suitable for the zone.

Result

After assessment, you know whether employer obligations are sufficiently implemented and whether equipment is genuinely suitable for the established zones.

Do your ATEX documentation, zoning and equipment suitability align?

Exquintia helps connect ATEX 153 and ATEX 114: from employer obligations to suitable equipment in the right zone.
